Other bits from Basel (Part II)

Some more pictures from Basel! Don't forget to check out Part I as well.

(Above) This was lunch at the Stadthof. They were the first restaurant to serve pizza in Basel but we had sandwiches, served as if they were sushi.

(Above) We spent an hour at the Tinguely, a sort of hands-on movement museum.

It's also still a working paper mill, with wheel and all.

(Above) We made our own paper too.

I found the rooms devoted to printing most interesting.

(Above) Oh look, another Basilisk!

(Above) This machine looks familiar...

This next part is from the Cathedral. It's on the banks of the Rhein so the back side has a great view of the city. It's also the burial spot of Érasme, a Dutch Humanist who lends his name to the European exchange student program, Erasmus.

(Above) L to R: Me, Ivan, Lucas, holding a sketch of the perfect geometry of the church's location with 2 other points to the city, which in turn mimic the position of 3 mountains (part of the Jura) which surround the city. This triangle was defined by the Celts.
