How Expats "do" St. Patrick's Day

Ah, St. Patrick's Day. Though this holiday was not widely acknowledged or celebrated by the Europeans, their lack of enthusiasm was compensated for by that of the Americans, Canadians, and begrudgingly, the Irish. Some school friends and I went to The Great Escape, a bar popular amongst the Expats of the city.

Trying to avoid looking like a complete tourist on St. Patrick's Day, I didn't take very many pictures.

Above is my (poor) attempt to capture the atmosphere inside. Most people were drinking Guinness and some wore comical hats, big screens featured soccer throughout the night, and Irish music blared - from Danny Boy to U2's greatest hits.
