How to go Skiing in Switzerland

It had to be done - there was no way I could come to Switzerland and not go skiing. And now the real test - could Mt. Brighton actually prepare me for Les Diablerets?

Step One - Take the Train! I went with Ivan & Maddie and we bought the typical combined train ticket & ski pass.

Not sure if it's clear in this photo but the town we were in was extremely cute & picturesque.

It felt like we were skiing in a painting - the mountains are absolutely gorgeous and only a little bit scary.

This was taken a little ways into the day. I had fallen down a lot by then.

And we kept going...this is just one of many chair-lift options. Some of them get really bizarre.

How crazy is this? The snow was up to the eaves. And people just ski on past...

Pause for a late lunch beneath the cowbells.

Ah yes, the traditional vin chaud...warm wine.

Oh yeah, and then at the end, we had to take a bus back to Lausanne. A very cramped bus. No worries - the driver let us stand up front with him while he maneuvered around some hair-pin turns. But I did get to see the Swiss highway system!

Final thoughts...I learned some things about myself during this ski trip. The first is that I ski like someone from a very flat state. The second is that I am partly made of rubber and therefore mostly resilient to constant and consistent falling.
Cheers!
